Mission statement

The SUVA Student Council aims to promote community, spirit, inclusivity, and diversity, as well as represent the voice of the students, acting as the liaison between administration and the student body to ensure that our opinions are heard, understood, and acted upon.

Ardan King

Ardan King

Founding member

Ardan King is an Animation sophomore at SUVA and a founding member of Student Council. Ardan creates visual experiences that explore the relationship between fear and intimacy, using animation and visual design to influence the viewer’s perception of the horror genre. Ardan plans to minor in Graphic Design as a way to boost in creating fluid branding and further the visual design of said projects.

Kevin Grijalva

Kevin Grijalva

Founding member

Kevin Grijalva is an Interior Design sophmore and a founding member of Student Council. Kevin graduated from Sunnyside High School in 2018 where he received CTE Certificates of Arizona Technical Skill Standards in digital printing and film and TV programs. Kevin was the acting president in his CTE programs, creating videographic content for his Highschool News show, participated in Graphic Design competitions, and loves to express himself through fashion, visual communication, and LEGO’s.

Myranda Valenzuela

Myranda Valenzuela is an Animation Sophomore at SUVA and a Founding Member of Student Council. She creates visual experiences that explore the different possibilities of improvement through colorful characters, using animation and visual design to influence the viewer’s perception of trying to better yourself. She also plans on practicing freelance work to give herself experience of working with different people and running her own animation business one day.

Rin Salkind

Rin Salkind

Treasurer

Rin Salkind is an Illustration sophomore at SUVA and a founding member of Student Council. He creates visual, narrative experiences focusing on dark themes and blending high fantasy and horror. He was acting co-president of the Japanese Culture Club in high school and went on to study in Japan for 9 months before attending SUVA. He has extensive experience in conflict-resolution, as well as the handling and management of money.
