SUVA Alert Notification System

Class cancellations and emergency information are broadcast through Omnilert. Sign up below to receive text message and email notifications whenever there is an emergency or weather-related class cancellations or delays.

About the SUVA Alert Notification System:

SUVA Alert Notification System is a mass notification system that enables University students, faculty and staff to receive alerts and updates as text messages on cell phones and via e-mails. Participation by the University community is voluntary. It is powered by Omnilert Network. No advertisements or non-emergency alerts will be sent to the registered phones.

Your information is not shared with or sold to third parties.

You must sign up for the service in order to receive alerts. Since this is a voluntary service, you may choose to opt-out of the service at any time. There is no charge for this service; however you are responsible for any text messaging charges from your wireless service provider.

This system will be used for safety and security events the University administration deems significant and for conditions that delay or close classes and offices.SUVA will make every effort to use this Emergency Notification system effectively and efficiently, but cannot guarantee subscribers will receive every message due to factors beyond the control of the University (i.e. cell phone powered off, out of cell phone service area, etc.). University will not be held responsible for any delays in receiving text messages. Please contact your cellular provider with any of these issues.

ALL USERS MUST FIRST CREATE AN Omnilert ACCOUNT to register their cell phone/e-Mail. If you attempt to login to your SUVA Emergency Notification account BEFORE you create an account, it will not work.

Sign Up for Omnilert Alerting System

Creating an Account

You must first create a new account. Browse to Click Sign Up, enter a Username of your choosing. Enter your First and Last Name. Enter and verify your new password. Place check marks in the Groups that you would like to receive alerts from. All SUVA Students will be used for all general announcements to both campuses.Be sure read and then check the Agree to Terms of Service checkbox then click the Create Account button. You will be taken to the next screen

Enter your cell phone number in the SMS Numbers (TXT message) field then pick a Carrier from the drop down list.
Enter any email addresses in the field.
Enter any voice phone numbers.

Adding an Text Message (SMS Number)

You must be logged in to your account, click on the Services tab. Enter your phone number and choose a carrier from the drop down menu. You will receive a verification code in the form of a text message to the number entered. Enter the verification code and the number will be added. You can "Inactivate or Delete" from the services page at any time.

Adding an Email Address

You must be logged in to your account, click on the Services tab. Fill in the Email Address box and click the Add Email button. Check your email account for the validation message from Omnilert. All you need to do is reply to the email. You will receive another email from Omnilert telling you the validation process is complete.

Adding an Voice Phone Number

You can add a voice phone number to receive verbal alerts. Enter your telephone number in the Phone: box and click the Add Voice button. There is no validation step in adding voice numbers. The Services page will simply update to show the active voice number. You can add more than one mobile phone number and email account if you would like alerts to go to multiple locations or family members.

Changing Groups

You can subscribe and unsubscribe to the various alert groups by clicking the Groups tab on the orange bar. You will see something like, "To subscribe to a new group simply click the Subscribe link to the right of Group you want to get alerts from. The new group will be added to your Active Groups." "To unsubscribe just click the Unsubscribe link to the right of the Group you don’t want to receive alerts from. The group will be removed from your Active Groups list."
