Student Clubs
As a Southwest University of Visual Arts Student you have the opportunity to join one or more of our student organizations.
AIGA - AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF GRAPHIC ARTS
Southwest University of Visual Arts students on both campuses have started the initial process of creating student chapters of AIGA. AIGA, the professional association for design, is committed to furthering excellence in design as a broadly-defined discipline, strategic tool for business and cultural force. AIGA is the place design professionals turn to first to exchange ideas and information, participate in critical analysis and research and advance education and ethical practice.
AC2 - STUDENT ANIMATION CLUB
AC2 is Southwest University of Visual Arts’ animation club. Students discuss animation techniques, animated films, animators who have influenced the industry, experimental animation techniques and work on ideas for short films that are produced for entry into International film festivals. The club is open to all students who have an interest in animation. The club regularly holds fund-raisers to raise money for charitable organizations and to bring in guest speakers from the animation industry.
AD CLUB - STUDENT ADVERTISING CLUB
Southwest University of Visual Arts students maintain a student advertising club affiliated with the American Advertising Federation. In additional to participating in the National Student Advertising Competition, the students sponsor guest speakers and social functions and work to facilitate communication between the students and advertising professionals. The club is open to all students and participates in various professional activities with the Tucson and Albuquerque Advertising Federations.
IIDA - STUDENT INTERIOR DESIGN CLUB
Southwest University of Visual Arts Interior Design students maintain a student organization affiliated with the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). Students travel to interior design conferences, national and international museums, attend social functions, participate in community service design projects and work to facilitate communication between the students and design professionals.
