  • Southwest University of Visual Arts (SUVA) is a coeducational undergraduate and graduate institution empowered to confer academic degrees by the States of Arizona and New Mexico. SUVA is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. SUVA is a Private, for-profit Art & Design University with 8 undergraduate degree programs and a MFA graduate degree with emphasis in Painting & Illustration, Photography, Motion Arts and Graphic Design. This general information is for Academic year 2016-2017 unless otherwise noted.

    The B.A. in Interior Design at the Albuquerque campus is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation.



  • SUVA has locations in Tucson, Arizona & Albuquerque, New Mexico. These cities are considered as large cities. Neither campus has campus housing.The population in 2014 of Tucson was listed at 526,000 and the population of Albuquerque in 2014 was 558,000.

  • The enrollment of undergraduates in Albuquerque - 85/ Tucson - 182 and undergraduate transfer-in enrollment - 8. In 2016 there were 9 students enrolled in the MFA program.

    The Special Learning Opportunities at SUVA are ROTC (Army) and weekend/evening classes.

    Student Services has Academic/career conseling services, Employment service for SUVA students, and Graduate employment assistance, please refer to catalog.

    Eligible students may receive Pell Grants and other Federal Aid (e.g. Direct Loans).

    The amount of undergraduate students enrolled who are formally registered with The Office of Disability Services is 3% or less.
